PRP70: SecurePath AGV Rover

NARENDRAN RAMASENDERAN ASIA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY

The SecurePath AGV Rover is an autonomous security robot designed for retail environments that addresses critical safety concerns through an integrated system of advanced technologies. The rover combines SLAM navigation for autonomous patrolling, machine vision capabilities for detecting falls, recognizing faces, and identifying hand gestures, an LLM-powered chatbot for natural interaction, and an automated emergency dispensing system for delivering medical supplies.Built on the SCUTTLE robotic platform with a durable aluminum structure, the rover navigates crowded retail spaces independently, identifies emergency situations, communicates with individuals through voice or text, and provides immediate access to medical supplies through servo-controlled compartments. When a person waves at the rover, it approaches and initiates conversation via the chatbot. Its fall detection system identifies collapsed individuals, while face recognition helps locate specific persons. Upon request, the rover dispenses medical items like bandages or iodine through angled compartments or a drawer system for larger items. This multifunctional robot enhances retail security while providing rapid emergency response, reducing the burden on human staff and improving safety outcomes.
